METRO MAGAZINE COM NOVEMBER 2020 Hello and welcome to METROs November issue Hopefully you all are well and were able to survive election season While I spent last months column discussing the elections that have now passed as well as the continued need for emergency funding for the public transit and motorcoach industries that we are a part of a few new exciting changes here fell through the cracks which Id like to share this month SOMETHING OLD SOMETHING NEW First of all I am now the Executive Editor here at the magazine It is a great feeling to run a go to informational resource for the industries we serve and I promise moving ahead you will still get the same reliable coverage youve been used to over the years Some of you may have already noticed a slight change in focus as we are not only sharing information that will help your operations run more efficiently but also spending more time featuring the people who make your well oiled machines go We are also expanding our focus on diversity gender and inclusion just as many of you are at your operations I would also like to welcome our new Assistant Editor Sadiah Thompson Sadiah has spent some time on our sister publication School Bus Fleet and will now be part of our team here at METRO Hopefully when it is safe for travel to resume she will get the chance to meet many of you in person Until then please welcome her to the industries we love NEW LAUNCHES AND MORE We have also recently launched an updated website at www metro magazine com which I think you will enjoy if you have not visited lately It has a cleaner sleeker look that I think makes our content easier for you to both find and digest One of the new features of our revamped site is our new podcast METROspectives which focuses on the public transit and motorcoach industries as well as the mobility picture as a whole To this point we have been fortunate to have some excellent guests including the ABAs Peter Pantuso industry stalwart Paul Comfort the CTAAs Scott Bogren Ubers Chris Pangilinan and the RTC of Southern Nevadas M J Maynard While our guest list so far will be hard to top feel free to visit the page on our website to hear the latest or subscribe wherever you get your podcasts With all that thank you for your continued support and please visit the site to catch up on our podcasts or check out whats new in your industry Lastly please feel free to reach out to provide feedback or exchange ideas I look forward to continue working together with all of you EDITORS NOTE STILL THE SAME JUST DIFFERENT ALEX ROMAN EXECUTIVE EDITOR 4 It is a great feeling to run a go to informational resource for the industries we serve and I promise moving ahead you will still get the same reliable coverage youve been used to over the years
